Rameau Normil, who returned to the leadership of the Haitian National Police (PNH) in June 2024, earned the trust of the CPT and Prime Minister Garry Conille. Mr. Normil replaced Frantz Elbé, the police chief under Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who was in charge during the devastating events of February and March 2024. More than a dozen police stations were destroyed, and officers were killed.
