The Heads of State and Government of CARICOM and the U.S. Department of State oppose a change of governance in Haiti dictated by criminal groups. These positions come in a context of increasing gang attacks in Port-au-Prince and threats against the southern part of the country. A protest demanding the departure of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) is also scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
