Faced with the constant threat posed by criminal groups in the city, the management of the Mirebalais University Hospital has proceeded with the evacuation of around fifty patients and staff members. The patients are being transferred to other nearby health centers. In an interview with Le Nouvelliste, Dr. Réginald Ternier, director of the clinical program at the NGO Zanmi Lasante, which manages HUM, explained that this measure became necessary as the best way to continue providing care to patients safely.
