On January 6, 1995, the Haitian Armed Forces (FADH) were demobilized by the country’s executive authority. The majority of Haitians applauded this decision, which ordered the dismantling of the military institution in its existing form, citing numerous wrongdoings attributed to it. However, most did not take the time to evaluate the negative impact such a measure would have on the future of the nation.
